Playing around with images that hint at the economic times. These three photos made in New Haven, Connecticut and Memphis, Tennessee.

It would seem that the economy would be cliche subject matter these days, but I have not seen very much work that provides an artfully satisfying look at the financial situation.

The sculpture “What You see Might Not Be Real,” by Chen Wenling, was displayed at a Beijing gallery Sunday. The artwork is a critique of the global financial crisis, with the bull representing Wall Street and the man pinned to the wall representing Bernard Madoff.
